Brisbane BMW and Westside BMW are proud to announce their naming rights sponsorship of UQ Rugby’s Old Boys Day and Pre-Test Corporate Luncheon kicking off this July 2020.
The sponsorship will see Brisbane BMW and Westside BMW support the club while also investing in grassroots rugby union as the major sponsor of the UQ Rugby Academy Program (Academy), aimed at assisting individuals, teams, clubs, or schools to meet their rugby goals.
Through a longstanding relationship with the club and ambassadorship with ex-Wallaby Captain Stephen Moore, Dealer Principal Anthony Alafaci felt the sponsorship was the perfect way to support local rugby in Brisbane. “We’re thrilled to sponsor UQ Rugby in a meaningful way by helping expand the game locally through supporting the club and its players from a grassroots level and driving engagement for rugby within our BMW community”, shared Alafaci.
Being a driving force behind the BMW brand in Brisbane, Ambassador Stephen Moore says the sponsorship will make an important impact on the Academy. “The UQ Rugby Academy is world-class and I’m proud to be an advocate for this program. Having BMW behind the wheel as the naming rights sponsor of the Academy will certainly assist in the growth of the game for the men, women, boys and girls involved and their rugby development” said Moore.
UQ Rugby’s President Michael Zaicek stated “Having Brisbane BMW and Westside BMW involved with UQ Rugby Club provides us with so many opportunities, right across the Club. It enables us to take our rugby programs and events to the next level, which we couldn’t achieve without their support.”
Due to the current Coronavirus pandemic, club rugby will resume in August with the Brisbane BMW and Westside BMW Old Boys Day at UQ Rugby Club on Saturday 15 August.
